The screen appearing in black and white may result from various reasons:
Night mode or infrared night vision: Many surveillance cameras feature a night mode function. When the lighting conditions are insufficient, the camera will automatically switch to black-and-white mode or utilize infrared night vision. This enhances image quality in low-light environments.
Camera settings: This might be due to the camera settings being configured for black-and-white mode. You can check the camera settings and try switching to color mode.
Insufficient lighting: In environments with inadequate lighting, color images may not be clear. Therefore, the camera may automatically switch to black-and-white mode to improve image quality.
Camera malfunction: None of the above methods resolve the issue; it could be a malfunction with the camera itself, preventing it from capturing color images properly.
If the surroundings are relatively dark, the infrared night vision lights have been automatically activated, defaulting the image quality to black and white. If you wish to switch to full-color night vision mode (if supported by the device), you can do so in the control mode settings. lt’s not possible to manually turn off the infrared lights in this scenario.
